Travels of a Tortoise

My Story: slow and steady... a bit scary... definitely epic!

On a beautiful fall day...

With courage and determination...

O Crap!!! I should have listened to my mom...

Cover my head and pray to Lord now!

I survived!!! a new life... better run now before another monster shows up...

Head held high... full spead ahead...

Half way mark... I can sense the victory...

No one can stop me now...

Yes I rule these lands...

I can see that white line but why it's still so far!!!

A few more miles...don't give up now...

Ahh the smell of grasslands... the New World...discovered!!!

Sweet Victory...I always knew I could do it...where's my flag now.

  1. Phew! Glad he made it. I have a pet turtle in my house pond now thanks to a similar scenario. A friend walked in after taking his lunch and handed me a tiny little red eared slider that he very nearly ran over. The turtle has got a great home now, I tell ya!

  2. I am so glad this little guy made it! It made me nervous when I saw the photo of the car on the road, but I doubt you were going to share this little guy's adventure if there was going to be an unhappy ending!

  3. Funny. Never seen anything like this before and yeah, it was good. Good ending for the turtle. Glad the car didn't run over it.

  4. Did you actually took the time to wait and see how the turtle crosses the road? Haha! Was it slow or not that slow? :) I've met a tortoise in Cuba and it wasn't slow at all. :)

  5. Slow and steady wins the race! I was getting a little nervous - wondering if something was gonna swoop down and gobble him up! Life is full of unexpected events...

  6. This just made me smile and feel happy about the turtles success. I don't want a turtle but he's cute enough :)
